CFI Omnitracs

CFI just switched from PeopleNet to Omnitracs for on board communications and ELD purposes. Also, CFI utilizes Omnitracs Smart drive technology with forward facing cameras. In years past drivers kept their own logs paper logs, better known as (Cheat Sheets). I guess some would say that they were the good old days. Technology is here to stay like it or not, I can say I’m never behind in my logs anymore. Big brother has wanted to implement this technology for a long time, Werner Transport was the first company to have electronic logs as a test program. Drivers can still make good money with electronic logs without having to cheat. As far as the on-board cameras, I have run a Dash Cam for years as protection from prosecution in the event of an accident, the cameras not only protect the carriers but the drivers also. And they help in coaching drivers on areas of concern when it comes to complacency.
